Zicatela Beach is a beach to opened sea, of great length and with a wide
one that vary approximately of 30 to 40 meters. The sand is fine of gray
color and there is a hard pending; the crystalline water is green and blue
tonalities. The waves sometimes reaches to 6 meters of height, ideal to
practice surfing.

| Every year in the month of November is carries out in this beach a tournament
of surfing with duration of three days in which participate surfers of
the coast region , national and foreign, who offer a true spectacle in
this marvelous art to dominate the waves. In other hand, this beach offers other kind of contest like Miss Bikini, rallies marathons and cultural events. |

In this beach will be possible that you enjoy sun baths and walks or swimming. Near the beach small establishments of services as restaurants are located, so that can enjoy the marvelous Oaxaca's food or the excellent fish and totally fresh shellfish |
| It is said besides, that Puerto Escondido is the paradise of the surfers, and the waves of four to height meters (13 to 26 feet) of the beach of Zicatela puts to test the abilities of the most experimented surfer.
